On June 29, German Next2Sun GmbH announced that its in-house developed vertical installation 4.2MW photovoltaic power station project in Donaueschingen, Germany was successfully connected to the grid. The most important feature of the project is the vertical installation of the most advanced n-type bifacial modules in the photovoltaic industry, which, compared with traditional installation methods, enables the solar plant to gain more energy yield.

Jolywood is the partner with Next2Sun for exclusively providing n-type bifacial solar modules, the world’s largest manufacturer of n-type photovoltaic products. Speaking of the cooperation with Jolywood, Mr. Hildebrandt, CEO of Next2Sun GmbH, said: “We have been following Jolywood for a long time and know their products very well. Their latest n-type TOPCon bifacial technology is best suitable for vertical bifacial installation as high efficiency on the rear side (high bifaciality) is perfect to achieve best possible yield. We chose Jolywood after careful consideration and contact with many module manufacturers. Jolywoods leading position in n-type technology, and the advantages of n-TOPCon modules are the main reason for us to choose Jolywood. We are also impressed by Jolywood professional service system, like even in the face of the serious Covid-19 crisis, they still managed to deliver on time. In the future, we will continue to cooperate with Jolywood to develop more photovoltaic projects.

As the world’s leading manufacturer of n-type TOPCon bifacial technology, Jolywood has been focus on the research and development of n-type technology including nPERT, n-TOPCon, IBC, TBC, etc since 2016. Dr. Zhifeng Liu, GM of Jolywood said: “compared with p-type modules, n-type modules have very obvious advantages. First, the average mass production conversion efficiency of Jolywood’s n-type modules can be as high as 23.5%, which is much more efficient than traditional p-type modules. Second, n-type modules have no LID, and annual degradation is below 0.4%, which means yields will be more than 87.4% after 30 years. In addition, n-type modules have much lower rear shading loss which contributes to their high bifaciality. There are still many other technological advantages of n-type modules, such as better low light performance and lower temperature co-efficiency. As p-type cells and modules are facing difficulties to meet the increasing demand for higher efficiencies, N-type TOPCon technology will be the dominating high-efficiency solar cell technology in the near future, and Jolywood will continue to launch new products to meet the changing customer needs.”

About Next2Sun GmbH

Next2Sun has developed an entirely new concept for photovoltaic open-field plants using bifacial solar modules that are vertically aligned facing East and West. This new kind of "agri-photovoltaic" plants allows not only for agriculture and energy production side by side, but also better grid compatibitlity having its production peaks in the morning and evening time. Covering less than 1% of ground area, ecological impact of Next2Sun's solar power plants is almost missing. Learn more on www.next2sun.de or via info@next2sun.de .
